Whatever you choose to do in Alpbachtal you are never far from the spectacular nature that dictates the area. In Kramsach, there are four lakes open to visitors. A protected environment where neither sail boats nor motor boats are allowed and where the natural wild bird life flourishes and grows alongside the local community. This sunny plateau is washed in summer sun making these lakes a warm bathing must for all guests.

The Reintalersee is the largest of the four, with the Krummsee offering a majestic sweep to the landscape. The Buchensee boasts a host of water lilies that is unequalled and the Fraunsee with its deep camoflauge of reeds and plant life has a whim of its own.

For newcomers to hiking consider the Seenplateau-Tour in Kramsach. You not only walk the perimeter of the four Kramsach lakes, but also discover the Berglesteinersee which lies at 700km. This 9km walk starts in Kramsach and winds its way past the Mariatal to the Panoramaweg Pulverhof. The Frauensee is soon in view as you head south along the road and past the traditional water wheel. Next comes the Krumsee with its majestic sweep followed by the Buchensee that delights with its variety of water lilies. The last of the four in this tour is the largest, the Reintalersee. Following the north side of the shore you come to the path leading to the picture perfect Berglsteiner See. You can choose to take the bus back to Achenrain where you finish the last lap. After about 2,5 to 3 hours you will find yourself back at the start.
